John Kerry is the pest performer on my team. Jonh Kerry, Barack Obamah, and Gordon Smith, are doing very well on my team as far as legislation, consponsoring, news, and attendence. Gordon Smith has a very high percentage on maverick. Though Bart Gordon has the highest percentage on Mavericks. Nydia velasquez is doing very well on her legislation and consponsoring but not so well on her maverick and on the news media. The ones who are not doing good on my team are George vionovich, Betty Sutton, Tim Bishop, Bill clay, Bart Gordon , and Dian Deggette. George vionovich legislation is bad but his consponsoring is good. His maverick is very low and so is his news appearences. His attendence is good. Betty Sutton is doing good on her legislation and her consponsering. Her maverick and news attendence is very poor though. Tim Bishop's legislation is poor ansd his consponsership is good. His maverick and news is bad. The same goes for bill clay. Bart Gordon is doing much better then Tim Bishop and bill clay. Though he is doing just as bad on the media. (News). Diana Degette is the worst performer in my fantasy congress team So I replaced her with Mary Bono. Most of my other team players are doing pretty good. George vionovich's legislation is not good so I replaced him with hilary clinton.

In the video states that congress is very important to have because with out it their would be no bills to pass laws that allow certain things to flow for our benefit. Even though some people can be very much against congress they do not understand the importance of having congress.


One thing I would change in the legislative branch is not being able to pass the bill of exicution . Capital punishment goes against the 8th amendment of inflicting cruel and unusual punishment on people.

I really sort of randomly drafted my players. I chose barack Obama because I want him to be the next presidential candidtate for the democrats and win the election and be our next president . The same is with John Kerry who I wanted to win over bush but unfortunatly didn't. I chose Gordon smith as my upper senator and Bart Gordon as my allstar because they both have the same name as I have. I chose nydia velasquez because she had the same last name as I have. I chose betty Sutton becuase I think she's pretty. Bill clay seemed like a reasonble name. Everyone else I just randomly chose.

The most pressing issue in politics today is money and power. I think it's all about how much wealth and power one individual can achieve and how much that individual can gain over others. I chose this topic because it is the most obvious thing that you see in politics today. War, power, and greed. Politics is a body of legislators that govern society. The government controls society with money and the enforcement of Law. Everything is based on reward or punishment. People who gain money and power are those that are strong, cynical, and work hard for it. Those who have earned it are celeberties, the talented,(singers, actors, musicians, artists, writers ect.) those in power like the politicains, people born rich, organized crime, legislators, government thuggs, doctors, lawyers,(including the corrupt ones) and anyone else that has talent, motivation, and strength to gain power and prestige. It is all based on the individual and weather that individual will use his or her power for good means or bad ends.
Governments become corrupt when the individuals within the governing body are corrupt. A person must change inwardly in order to have a healthy government outwardly. My definition of politics is the science of governing society and making it healthy and prosperous and preventing it from falling into decay. I think the government places to much money and emphasis on war and those that are already rich and powerful, and cares little about the poor, the weak, the untalented, the unfortunate, the drug addicts, the alchoholics, the prostitutes, the mentally ill, the sick murderes, and all the unfortunate little people that never had a chance. I think the medical system cares little today for the sick and the unfortunate. The law like the police and the FBI, CIA, and DEA cares little for the heavy organized crime lords and government thuggs and goes after the little weak drug addicts, prostitutes, and insane murderers. I think The medical system is becoming a money making business, and prisons are becoming a top money making business too. Both the government, medical and law systems work together to govern society through mind control and experiments in order to make money for their own pleasures and needs. Because of the billions of people in the world today it seems hard to focus and care just for one person then a billion others, but dosn't one person equal a billion? One for all and all for one? I think the government, law, society and it's operations itself makes criminals in our society through control methods with money and enforcement. Religion itself is claimed as being a money making institution as well. Religion is a very contraversal thing today and people tend to be anti-religious for fear of being controlled. It probably was not a good idea to put a wall between church and state. Freedom of religion is a good thing but it should play a bigger role in politics today. There should be no such thing as rich and poor in society and everyone should be equally rich. The government should help unfortunate people find Jobs and ways to make money easier and to acheive the status they have. America is a very hedonistic, materialistic, and an unhappy technologicaly advanced society. We are not a utopian society but more of a cynical society with self indulgent nobles and legislators that fails to recognize religious and spiritual morals for what they are. A utopian society is a healthy society where people live in equal harmony spiritually, mentally, physically, morally, and financially. Such a society seems like a fiction but I think it is possible.

HELLO

Hello everyone I'm Gordon. I was born in Northern California and raised in New Mexico most of my childhood and lived in the east cost in New Jersey and pennsylvania most of my youthhood. I attended BCC in PA for a year and have taken art courses there. I am currently majoring in anthropology. I have also taken art courses in GCC,SMC, and LACC and acting classes at actor's playpen in Hollywood in the past. I also like to write on my spare time and would like to be a famous writer someday. I'm actually a double major in graphic arts and anthropology. I started off as an art major then I decicded to major in anthropology. I'm taking this Pol Sci course for the credit. Though I have often thought of majoring in politics at certain times. I would not mind being president if they asked me too. I have taken the class before but unfortunately had to withdrawl for personal reasons. I hope I gain alot of knowlege from this class and am able to put it to good use in the future.
